I am retired, tired, and happy.
Just a quick note after I retired and before I retire.
Being retired feels like that first morning of summer vacation when you’re eleven, when you wake up and a vista of liberty stretches golden and glowing before you. Except when you’re retired, it’s forever and you’re old. I am giddy with happiness.
I am retired, and I am also tired after a Mother’s Day with my girls, my son and daughter in law, three grandkids, and my husband. It was an afternoon of laughter, noise, and delectable charcuterie provided by my oldest and her husband.
I requested a craft, so we all painted with watercolors. There are some absolute MASTERPIECES over there on the hutch. My middle daughter cleaned up the entire mess of a table. I have a fridge full of delectable leftovers so I should probably have some people over for drinks.
Now they have all gone home. I finished up the hand-wash dishes.
I am extremely content.
